Nanuq

In Inuit mythology Nanuq, the polar bear, was the master of all bears. Traditional folktales tell the story of polar bears helping the Inuit stay alive in their harsh environment by providing them with food and companionship. The Inuit have a deep respect for the polar bear, a position that is reiterated in Inuit mythology that sees no difference between the spirit of human beings and that of other animals.
