High in the Colombian Amazon lies Chiribiquete National Park, a place often called the ‘Sistine Chapel of the Amazon.’ Its vast sandstone mesas guard more than 75’000 rock paintings, some dating back over 20’000 years. These images tell stories of jaguars, shamans, and the deep connection between humans and the forest.

At the heart of this landscape stands the Kapok tree - sacred to many Indigenous peoples as the axis of the world, linking sky, earth, and the underworld. Beneath its roots, the ancient paintings remind us that culture and nature have always been inseparable.

To protect Chiribiquete is to protect humanity’s memory, our present biodiversity, and the possibility of a future in balance with Earth.
